Born and brought up in the spiritual city of Varanasi, Madhumita grew up with an innate curiosity, always drawn to challenges and eager to explore the unknown. As a teenager, she dreamt of becoming a pilot, inspired by fields where few women ventured. Over time, her curiosity evolved into a deeper interest in understanding people, emotions, and human behaviour. This passion guided her toward psychology, leading her to pursue her undergraduate and master’s degrees from the prestigious Banaras Hindu University.

She went on to secure admission into the PhD program in Psychology, but her aspiration for financial independence and a desire to understand the corporate world steered her toward a career in Human Resources. While working, she further strengthened her expertise with an MBA in HR and Organizational Behaviour from Annamalai University.

Across her career, she has contributed to diverse sectors including telecom, oil and gas, manufacturing, ecommerce, and education, gaining a holistic understanding of people and organisational dynamics. She joined us in June 2021 and gradually built a strong HR team which leads the HR function for Grocery and Last Mile Delivery operations in the Kolkata region today. Along with her team of 23, she supports and manages a workforce of over 2,500 people. She credits her journey to her parents, her education, and the mentorship of Manoj Sharma.

Her life mantra is simple:
“Be a good human being and try to understand people — only then can you lead better.”

Outside work, Madhumita is a gifted classical vocalist and a proud pet parent to four dogs. Music continues to be her creative outlet, grounding her amidst a dynamic HR career.

Driven by the belief that individuals must take charge of their own lives, she strives to help her team become independent, confident, and strong leaders of tomorrow.
