Turning Challenges Into Opportunities.
From the fields of Sangli to the battlefields of Kargil, Amit Inamdar’s journey is one of resilience, service, and transformation.
Hailing from an agricultural family in Sangli, Maharashtra, Amit always had a deep connection with farming. He always wanted to work in the fields and decided to pursue a BSc in Agriculture and worked in the fields part-time. But life had different plans. Circumstances forced him to leave his undergraduate studies early, yet he didn’t let that setback define him. Instead, he took a different path—one that would lead him to serve the nation with unwavering dedication.
Determined to secure his future and support his family, Amit qualified for the Indian Navy. What followed was a 15-year-long journey of discipline, courage, and resilience. He served on multiple Indian Naval Ships (INS), including Subhadra and Ajay, and played a crucial role in Operation Vijay during the Kargil War, for which he was awarded a medal from the government. His exceptional service also earned him the Flag Officer Award, a testament to his dedication and excellence in the Navy.
Even while serving at sea, Amit never stopped learning. He pursued a BBA degree and a certification in wireless communication, ensuring he remained prepared for life beyond the Navy.
After completing his military service, Amit transitioned into the corporate world, continuing his journey of impact. He joined Mahindra Logistics Limited (MLL) as a consultant in 2019, bringing with him the same discipline and strategic mindset that had defined his naval career. His contributions were so remarkable that he was soon offered a full-time role. Today, he serves as a Regional Deputy Manager in Pune, leading key initiatives that drive efficiency and cost savings.
One of his most notable contributions at MLL was streamlining security operations. By transitioning from multiple regional security agencies to a centralized security system, Amit helped save the company ₹2.75 crore, showcasing his ability to drive large-scale operational improvements.
But his commitment to service extends far beyond the workplace. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Amit stepped up when the world needed people like him the most. Partnering with the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), he worked tirelessly to distribute PPE kits, arrange food for COVID patients, and facilitate the distribution of oxygen concentrators during the critical oxygen shortage. His selfless contributions earned him the prestigious Honorary CAPSI Membership, recognizing his courage and humanitarian efforts during the crisis.
Even with his career, Amit stays true to his roots. His love for agriculture never faded, and he now plans to develop his farmland, as part of his long-term vision. On weekends, you’ll find him either on the farm, playing cricket, or swimming, embracing life with the same passion that has guided him all these years.
For Amit, the key to success is simple: stay positive, work hard, and never give up. As he puts it, ‘Resilience turns challenges into opportunities.’ His journey, from getting in the Navy to driving impact at MLL and serving the nation during the pandemic – is a true testament to that.
