Muna Das
Taking Bold Actions.
Some people find opportunities. Others create them. Muna Das belongs to the latter. Growing up in rural Odisha, challenges were constant, but so was his determination. In his village, many spent their days consumed by alcohol and gutka, making little to no progress in life. He saw firsthand how this cycle trapped people, and he was determined to break free. Education became his way out, and against all odds, he became the only MBA graduate from his village of 5,000.
That degree took him to Bangalore, but success didn’t come easy. He still remembers the uncertainty of arriving in a packed general compartment, unsure of what lay ahead. With relentless perseverance, he landed a role at an e-commerce firm, quickly earning recognition for his work. Later, he took on a new challenge—managing dark stores for a quick-commerce startup. Despite the concept being new in India, his store ranked among the top three in the country, proving his ability to adapt and lead.
But life isn’t a straight line. Just as he was settling into his career, layoffs loomed over his organization—right after he had gotten married. Faced with uncertainty, Muna didn’t wait for luck to turn in his favour. He reached out to Anand Gupta on LinkedIn, not just explaining his situation but showcasing his skills and ideas. That one message changed everything, leading him to Mahindra Logistics.
Today, as FC Head in Malda, he leads 1,000 individuals, with his facility recognized as the best 3PL FC in the East. His leadership extends beyond operations—he has taken bold steps to create meaningful change. Muna had always dreamed of joining the Army to serve his country. When height restrictions kept him from that path, he found another way to make an impact. He launched initiatives to curb gutka and cigarette consumption among workers, restricting gate passes and introducing a rewards program to encourage healthier habits.
His hunger for learning hasn’t stopped. Recently, he completed an analytics course from IIT Roorkee and now aims to deep dive in current process flows and build automation tools for operational efficiency.
Muna’s journey proves that true leadership isn’t just about great minds—it’s about taking bold action, lifting others up, and creating lasting impact.
