Navdeep Momi
Leading With Growth Mindset.
Most stories from rural Uttar Pradesh don’t end up shaping corporate India. But Navdeep Momi’s did, all because his parents believed there was a world beyond their village, and they wanted their son to live it.
And he did!
A Physics topper in school, Navdeep followed his curiosity into Electronics and Telecommunications engineering. After graduating, life took him to Doha, Qatar, where he spent three years leading project implementation.
He always sensed he’d thrive on the business side. And during one such cross-functional project with the Ministry of Doha, that gut feeling was confirmed. The spark was real. Coupled with a growing sense of homesickness, he knew it was time to return to India.
His first attempt at entrepreneurship came in 2012 with a food delivery startup. It was ahead of its time, but the ecosystem wasn’t ready—patchy phone calls, limited internet, and operational hurdles made it tough to scale. He eventually shut it down, but the dream stayed alive.
“I had a thing for business,” he smiles. “I always did.”
That drive led him to IMT Nagpur for an MBA. While there, he launched RedBricks- an on-campus food delivery venture named after the institute’s iconic red-brick walls. He took pre-orders from students, tied up with restaurants for bulk discounts, and made campus life just a little easier (and tastier) for everyone.
RedBricks still exists today, more experience-driven now but carrying the same entrepreneurial spirit.
After his MBA, he worked at Haldia Port before joining Mahindra Logistics. For his parents—lifelong admirers of Mahindra tractors—it was a full-circle moment of pride.
Navdeep’s journey with us has been dynamic from Business Excellence, Sales, and Solution Design to now leading the ₹240 crore Fulfilment Centers business across India. He pioneered our dark store model and is also working on making FCs more sustainable.
But what truly stands out is the way he leads. When one of our sites faced total chaos, Navdeep volunteered to step in—no instructions, just initiative. He believes every chaotic site is a classroom: the best and fastest way to learn the business.
He calls it a “scope role”, not given but seen and taken.
Outside of work, Navdeep is deeply committed to sustainability. Inspired by our green push during the Annual Leadership Conclave 2022, he installed solar solutions at his own home, an off-grid inverter and a solar-powered submersible pump, walking the talk and significantly reducing his electricity costs.
He also enjoys reading about business models, watching movies, and jokes that he aspires to be a true Baniya Punjabi—not by birth, but by mindset.
