Airfreighted 57 Tonnes of Critical ODC in 4 Days

Since 2017, we have been the trusted logistics partner for a leading American conglomerate, managing their warehousing operations across key locations in India. Building on this successful collaboration, our partnership expanded in 2022 to include transportation operations.

Operating across diverse sectors—including abrasive products, worker safety, healthcare, and consumer goods—the customer relies on us to manage their integrated warehousing and transportation network in Bhiwandi, Chakan, Ranjangaon, Ahmedabad, and Bangalore.

At our Bhiwandi multi-client warehouse, specific opportunities were identified to further enhance operational efficiency and service levels. These included optimising space utilisations, improving put-away turnaround times, strengthening the order fill rate to reduce sales impact, and scaling shipment dispatch capabilities. Focus areas also involved streamlining unloading processes to minimise detention time, implementing better inventory management practices, and enhancing the management of Indent vs. Placement turnaround times.

Optimising Operations with Tech-Led & Sustainable Warehousing & Transportation Solutions

As part of our contract logistics services, our customised warehousing and transportation solutions have driven operational efficiency and reliability for the customer. We manage over 2,000 Stock Keeping Units (SKUs), handling a monthly throughput of 2.25 lakh boxes and processing around 1,000 returns daily. In local transportation, we manage the movement of over 2,000 boxes each month, ensuring timely and efficient distribution aligned with the customer’s dynamic supply chain needs.

Streamlined Warehousing Operations:

  • Warehousing Layout Optimisation: Optimised space utilisation through a hybrid storage model combining G+7 racking and ground storage.
  • Order Scheduling Enhancement: Implemented twice-daily order scheduling to improve the order fill rate and operational flow.
  • Expedited Dispatch Process: Ensured all billed orders are dispatched within 24 hours, enhancing service levels.
  • Inventory Accuracy Improvement: Introduced a secondary verification process to minimise dispatch errors.
  • Inventory Organisation: Streamlined inventory management by organising stock based on customer business groups, improving traceability and operational efficiency.

Optimised Transportation Operations:

  • Standardised Processes: Developed and implemented SOPs in collaboration with the customer and business associates to ensure seamless transport operations.
  • Automated Billing: Enabled faster and more accurate billing through our Transport Management System (LogiFreight).
  • Real-Time Visibility: Deployed end-to-end vehicle tracking and reporting to enhance transparency and control across the delivery network.
  • TAT Optimisation: Improved Indent vs. Placement turnaround time, leading to better fleet utilisation and responsiveness.

Enhanced Productivity through Tech-Enabled Operations:

  • WMS Implementation: Deployed our Warehouse Management System (WMS), increasing productivity from 70 to 85 boxes per man-hour.
  • Digital Inventory Control: Enabled real-time inventory visibility and traceability, reducing stock discrepancies and manual errors.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leveraged dashboards and analytics tools for continuous monitoring of key KPIs such as fill rates, dispatch timelines, and TATs.
  • Enhanced TMS Integration: Connected Transport Management System (TMS) with WMS for seamless coordination between dispatch planning and inventory readiness.

Operations Excellence through Sustainable Practices:

  • Solar Power Integration: Installed solar panels at the warehouse to reduce dependency on conventional energy sources and lower carbon footprint.
  • Energy Efficiency through ACE: Implemented various energy efficient initiatives under the Accelerated Cost Efficiency (ACE) program, resulting in a 50% reduction in overall energy consumption.
  • Eco-Friendly Material Handling: Replaced conventional pallets with sustainable wooden pallets to minimise plastic use and promote responsible sourcing.
  • Sustainability-Linked Practices: Aligned daily operations with the customer’s sustainability goals through continuous monitoring of energy usage and waste reduction efforts.
